Fabulous February

March 5, 2020

TC Titans had a fabulous February and the boys hard work continues to pay off. The Titans competed in 2 February tournaments and completed the sweep winning both events. In the first Championship game Titans played the Costa Mesa Sox. In the second tournament they faced off against a very good MVP Hustle. Most impressive is that in both Championship games combined the boys hit well, played good defense, and pitched well. When considering just the two Championship games the titans scored 35 runs and only allowed 3.

Summer Recap

September 2019

The TC Titan boys took a summer break from travel ball and displayed their talents one last time as Orangecrest Pony 6u All Star team in Pony's 2019 Southern California All Star Tournament.  Before commencing Pony's All Star Tournament play, the boys traveled back and forth between Lake Elsinore and Irvine during Memorial Day weekend to compete in Triple Crown's Memorial Day Tournament and Irvine Pony's All Star Tournament.  The boys played a total of 8 competitive games that Memorial Day weekend, they went undefeated in Pony play and overall went 6-2 and were crowned Irvine Pony's Tournament Champions.

The week after that, they traveled to Beaumont to participate in Beaumont's All Star "warm up" tournament and played a total of 3 games.  They played some sound baseball, went undefeated and were crowned Tournament Champs.

On June 14, they began Pony's All Star Tournament play.  That weekend the boys went 3-0 and defeated Fontana in the championship game to be become "District" Champions and punch their ticket straight to “Region” play in Redlands, Ca.  In "Region" play, they played a total of 6 tough games going 5-1 with their only loss being to the defending champs Chino Hills Red midway through the tournament.  Not only were they able to avenge their first loss to Chino Hills Red, they beat them a second time in the Championship game in an exciting fashion to win 20-16 to be crowned "Region" Champs, earn a ticket straight to the West Zone Southern California World Series in Simi Valley, earn the #1 seed and earn the right with their Dad's to a fresh Mohawk haircut!  Coach  Jose "The Barber" was kind enough to accomodate practically the entire team just before we hit the road to Simi Valley.  Awesome job Coach Jose!

The World Series in Simi was quite the experience for the boys from the "cool" atmosphere/environment which included the opening ceremony, to the turf baseball fields, to the hotel stays, the team bonding through dinners and pool shenanigans and more importantly the opportunity to play the game they respect and love in front of their biggest fans/supporters while being challenged at the highest level as one unit and be recognized as Orangecrest Pony from Riverside, CA.  In World Series play, the competition only got tougher with teams having to do more to win and truly fight every play on both ends of the ball to win games.  World Series play kicked off with "Pool" play on Friday 7/12.  In "Pool" play, the boys played a total of 3 games, defeating San Marcos 20-14, defeating Southbay 17-12, defeating Irvine 20-5 and earned the #1 seed in the "Yellow" bracket.  In "Bracket" play, the boys played a total of 3 games, defeating Placentia 20-10, defeating East Long Beach 12-3, and having our very own Racin "Monster" Kramer and Joseph "To The Grass" Galante hit their 1st over-the-fence Home Runs.  In the World Series Championship game we faced West Covina, better known as our friendly rivals the "Socal Outlaws.  The game was very exciting and a nail biter with both teams making great plays and sound decisions defensively.  It wasn't until later in the game that the bats started to come out for both teams.  Going into the top of the 5th inning we were down 6-7 and the boys managed to stay focused and play their hearts out.  They scored 5 runs in the top of the 5th inning to take an 11-7 lead going into the bottom of the fifth and final inning. West Covina managed to score 2 runs making it 11-9 before they had 1 out with their biggest hitter up to bat and he being the tying run at the plate.  He ended up getting under the ball and flying out to Julian Martinez at 1st base and Julian managed to think quick on his feet and tag the runner who was at first to end the game on a double play and crown our very own Orangecrest 6u, 2019 Pony's 6u West Zone Southern California World Series Champions!!!  The 6u division was the largest division in all age groups.  There were over 100+ teams in our division, which tells you that our boys are very special and talented.  Over the course of the 7 weeks these boys worked hard and dedicated themselves and compiled a record of 21-1.  There was no team more deserving of all the accolades than these boys and coaches.  Big "Shout Out" to the Coaches, Families and the best Fans for their sacrifice, commitment, patience and most of all for your LOVE and Encouragement.  Bringing home Orangecrest's 1st 6u Pony World Series Champion banner could not have been done without you!

TC Titans December-February

February 2019

The Titans showed well in each of their tournaments over the past few months. They continue to make strides as young ball players and are continually improving. The weather caused for many cancelled games and practices but the boys still preformed well! In December, the Titans competed in the TCS Christmas Toy Drive Tournament and took 2nd to the Oulaws. They had a big lead going into the last half inning and let it slip away. In January, the Titans attended the USSSA MLK event. Here they played the Outlaws again in the Championship game and won a much lower scoring game compared to the one in Dec. Most recently, was the USSSA Chiller event where the Titans played the very first game of the day at 8am and then the very last. The Titans took second place, coming up a couple runs short, to the Mosters BB Club.
